Eva Ruth [Taylor] Ricks
March 23, 1916 ~ April 18, 2015


Eva Ricks, 99, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Saturday, April 18, 2015.

A graveside memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 22nd, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater, OK. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Eva was born on March 23, 1916 to Levi and Alma Taylor, the second of three children and raised in Stillwater.

After marrying Loyd Ricks on February 5, 1940, they raised 2 children and were able to celebrate their 50th Golden Anniversary.

She worked alongside her husband, owning and operating several businesses in Stillwater, while working at Katz department store in the notions department. After retirement, they spent many years working their cattle ranch east of Stillwater.

During her time in Stillwater, Eva was a member of the First Christian Church.

For the past 15 years, she resided at Golden Oaks Village assisted living facility in Stillwater, until she suffered a massive stroke in November, 2014, and moved to Sapulpa.

Eva was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Loyd Ricks; brother, Keith Taylor; and sister, Eythel Ryland.

She is survived by her daughter, Kay Ricks; son, Bruce Ricks and his wife, Judy; grandson, Jeff Ricks and his wife, Lisa; granddaughter, Dana Cook and her husband, Derick; 4 great-grandchildren, Emily and Nathan Ricks and Luke and Claire Cook; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of St. John's Hospital and Hospice for their kindness and compassion she received during the final days of her life.
