Graveside services for Mildred L. Green, 79, of Stillwater, will be at 1 pm Thursday, March 26, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Dr William R. Chace officiating.

Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs Green died Tuesday, March 24, 1992, in her home.

She was born June 27, 1912, in Claremore to P.C. and Ida F. Smith. She married Howard Green in 1949 in Stillwater.

She graduated from Central State College in Edmond with a B.A. degree, and worked as a secretary in the legal department of the Shell Oil Co, in Oklahoma City, from which she retired.

She moved to Stillwater following her husband's death.

She was a member of the Highland Park United Methodist Church and the Stillwater Women's Club. Survivors include one brother, Charles Smith of Tulsa; two sisters, Glenna Banks of Stillwater and Emily Stafford of McLeansboro, Ill; and a nephew, Jed Banks of Stillwater.

Memorials may be made to the Highland Park UMC or the charity of choice.

Walter T. Green, 91, of Stillwater passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at his home.

Arrangements are under the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 13, at 11:00am at Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Gardens.

May 29, 1927 ~ December 13, 1985


Stillwater – William J. "Curley" Green, 58, a former resident of Enid, died Friday, December 13, 1985 at a Stillwater medical center. The funeral was 11 AM today at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater with the Rev. Clarence Fry officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens there.

Green was born May 29, 1927 in Enid to Arthur H. and Mersa L. Husted Green. He moved with his family in 1928 to Carney where he attended school. In 1948, he moved to Stillwater. On March 23, 1957 he and Joy Pace were married in Stillwater.

Survivors include his mother, Mersa L. Green, Stillwater; two sons, Wilbert and Daren, both of Stillwater; a daughter, Mrs. Joe [Brenda] Varvil, Stillwater; two grandchildren; three brothers, Jimmy Green, Cleveland, Erlis Green, Crescent, and Urban L. Green, Nigeria, Africa; and a sister, Mrs. Gene [Ramona] Price, Stillwater.
