Ruba Lena "Ruby" [Kinkade] Gearhart

Ruby Lena Gearhart, 91, of Perkins, OK died on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 in Stillwater. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Perkins First Baptist Church with Pastor Albert L. May officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2009 at Strode Funeral Home. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on November 14, 1917 in Ripley, OK to Robert Logan Kinkade and Lillie Belle [Miller] Kinkade. She married Claud Ray "Jack" Gearhart on June 20, 1936 in Stillwater, OK. He preceded her in death on December 6, 1998.

She graduated from Perkins High School in 1936 and was named the schools oldest living alumni in 2007. She lived in Cushing, Perkins and Stillwater and worked as a sales clerk at Katz's Department Store, J.C. Penney's, and Anthony's.

She was a member of the Perkins First Baptist Church and loved to travel with the members of her Sunday School class. She was also a member of the Isaac Walton League's Women's Auxiliary.

She was a very accomplished artist and enjoyed oil and china painting. She loved spending time with her family and attending family reunions. She was very close to her granddaughter Vicki Shea and Vicki's children Lecy and William.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one grandson, John George; one granddaughter, Vicki Shea; five brothers, Virgil Kinkade, Elmer Kinkade, Charlie Kinkade, Amos Kinkade, and Alvin Kinkade; and two infant sisters.

She is survived by one son, Larry Ray Gearhart and his wife Charlene of Perryton, TX; one daughter, Sherry Lee Marlin of Perkins, OK; two grandchildren, Keith George and his wife Kallie of Pampa, TX and Gina Deal and her husband Benny of Perryton, TX; four great granddaughters, Lecy Marlin, Hannah Ducas, Chelsea Collum, and Aimee Deal; three great grandsons, William Shea, Kevin George, and Kirk George; and one great great granddaughter, Aubry Kathryn Ducas.

Active pallbearers will be Keith George, Benny Beal, Bob Blair, Robert Kinkade, Edward Kinkade, and Daniel Kinkade.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Judith Karman Hospice, P.O. Box 818, Stillwater, OK 74076.
