Billie [Green] Focht
November 9, 1948 ~ September 20, 2013

Billie Focht, age 64, a longtime Stillwater resident, passed away on September 20, 2013 in Dallas, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel, Stillwater, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Stillwater, Oklahoma. Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Billie was born on November 9, 1948 in Stillwater, OK. She was the daughter of Elwood and Barbara (Penn) Green. She grew up in Stillwater, graduating from Stillwater High School in 1967. Billie was a single mom who raised four children yet still found time to work, assist others and do her own sewing and basic house maintenance. She loved her family and caring for others.

Billie's compassion was evidenced daily in her work as a hospice nurse. She was a dedicated member of the Judith Karman Hospice team for 24 years where she was highly valued by her peers, her patients and her patient's families.

Prior to being injured in December 2012, Billie was a dedicated member of Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS), receiving TOPS "KOPS" [Keep Off Pounds Sensibly] award and being named runner up for Queen of the State for TOPS. Billie cared about all of the families for whom she cared, spending as much time as she could with each family and in several cases even adopting the pets of the loved ones so she could care for them too. Billie's strength in the face of great adversity was an inspiration to her family and friends. She was truly an angel on this earth and will be greatly missed.

Billie is survived by her children, Amiee Winters of Houston, Texas, Jason and Jennifer Focht of Plano, Texas, Ken Focht and Claudia Solis of Plano, Texas, Melissa Focht of Plano, Texas; siblings, Woody and Sandy Green of Cushing, Oklahoma, Jim and Theresa Green of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Joanna and Scott Thompson of Guthrie, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elwood and Barbara Green.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Billie's name to Judith Karman Hospice in care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, 5106 North Washington, Stillwater, OK 74075.
