Viola Mae [Whitehead] Dustin
September 18, 1913 ~ June 19, 2012


Viola Mae Dustin, 98, died on June 19, 2012 in Perkins, Okla. Her graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater, Okla. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on Sept. 18, 1913 to George Franklin and Georgia Ellen [Hennis] Whitehead in the Kremlin-Hillsdale area of Okla. She received her High School diploma in Enid, Okla., and married Raymond A. Dustin on Sept. 2, 1939 in Perry, Okla.

Viola was a member of the First Christian Church in Enid, Okla. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family. She found joy in her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she leaves behind a legacy of strength and love that will continue. She was the last living sibling of her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Dustin; son, Lynn Dustin; one brother, Kenneth; and two sisters, Veda and Glenda.

She is survived by three sons, two daughters, four grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Image Hospice at 215 E. 9th Ave., Stillwater, OK 74074; Shriners Hospitals for Children at 2001 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63131; or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Tribute Program, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
