Betty Ann [Hunt] Dry
April 7, 1933 ~ August 11, 2019


Betty Dry, 86, of Perkins passed away Sunday, August 11, 2019 in Stillwater after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Betty was born April 7, 1933 in Mulhall OK to George and Gertha [Mackey] Hunt.

She attended rural schools in the Mulhall/Orlando area and graduated from Coyle High School in 1951.

She married Louis Dry in Guthrie on January 7, 1952. They had two daughters, Carol and Donna. Betty was a busy stay-at-home mom who enjoyed sewing and working in the garden. She was well known for her beautiful flowers.

She had been a member of the First Baptist Church in Perkins for over 47 years. She was one of the original volunteer workers at the Baptist Church Clothes Closet, where she continued to work until her health began to decline.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Louis; her parents, George and Gertha Hunt; two sisters, Alice Silvers of Cushing and Margaret Carroll of Perkins; and two nephews, Gary Silvers of Stillwater and Eddie Silvers of Cushing.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol Dry of Perkins and Donna and Daren Lewman of Grainola as well as nephews Dean Silvers, Don Silvers, Larry Dry, David Silvers, Jimmy Carroll, Bobby Carroll, and nieces Debra Hatter, Lucy Moore, Linda Mason, Kelly Kinder, and their families, and sister in law Mary Silvers and husband Bob.
