July 21, 1965 ~ November 4, 2013


Darren Keith Douglas, 48, died on Nov. 4, 2013, in Cushing. His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 8 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater with Dennis Hughs and Curt Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Darren was born on July 21, 1965, to Curtis and Arlene [Lane] Douglas in Oklahoma City. He graduated from Ripley High School, and later started working as a PMP Operator for National Standard.

He married Sherry Smallwood on June 26, 1992, at Mehan Union Church. Darren loved his family, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed yearly hunting trips to Kansas as well as woodworking, mushroom hunting and spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Pete and Elva Lane; and his mother-in-law, Shirley White.

He is survived by his mother, Arlene Douglas; wife, Sherry Douglas; son, Daniel Eugene Tarver, and his wife, Taneeshia; son, Shane Matthew Dean, and his wife, Sarah; grandchildren, Adain Wikel, Brayden Tarver, and Tatum Dean; brother, Mike Lane, Kevin Prince and his wife Marcia, and Scott Prince; sister-in-law, Renee Prince; nieces, Amanda, Amber, Sandy, Summer, Haylee, Hattie, and Lindsey; nephews, Brian, Joe, and Dylan; and numerous other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Mike Lane, Kevin Price, Daniel Tarver, Shane Dean, Stuart Herschberger, and Quinton Lane.

Honorary pallbearers will be Delen Hood, Don Hood, Gene Watts and Scott Prince.
