August 1, 1928 ~ February 3, 2008


Lloyd V. Daugherty, 79, of Stillwater, went home to be with his lord Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, in Stillwater. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Countryside Baptist Church with Pastor J.B. Bond officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Strode Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Aug. 1, 1928, in Lincoln, Ark., to A.M. Daugherty and Luella Irene [Wadlow] Daugherty. He was a graduate of Star Valley High School in Afton, Wyo. He attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah. He married Dora Farless Oct. 15, 1949, in Pawnee. After their marriage, he entered the real estate and insurance business. He opened The Lloyd Daugherty Real Estate and Insurance Agency in Stillwater, which he owned and operated for over 27 years.

He was an avid fisherman and loved his garden. He was known for furnishing all his friends and fellow church members with fresh vegetables. He was also known as a great storyteller with a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor. His relationship with Dora was more than a marriage. They were best friends, lovers and soul mates. He was a past president of the Stillwater Board of Realtors, former member of the Rotary Club, Exchange Club and Stillwater Chamber of Commerce.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ray Daugherty.

He is survived by his wife, Dora Daugherty, of Stillwater; two sons, Ronald Lloyd Daugherty and his wife, Trula, of Dillon, Colo. and Gary Lynn Daugherty and his wife, Maria, of West Hills, Calif.; two grandchildren, Chad Daugherty and Trish of Rocklin, Calif. and Josh Daugherty and his wife, Jessica, of Georgetown, Calif.; three great grandchildren, Abel, Daxon and Wyatt Lloyd Daugherty; one sister, Letha Brown of Orem, Utah; sister-in-law, Mary Carnley of Hominy and brother-in-law, Eugene Farless and his wife, Wanda, of Broken Arrow.

Dora Velma [Farless] Daugherty
February 28, 1929 ~ June 28, 2018


Dora V. Daugherty, cherished mother, was welcomed in the arms of her lord and savior Jesus Christ and reunited with her beloved husband, Lloyd V. Daugherty on Thursday June 28th, 2018. She peacefully passed over at home surrounded by family and loved ones. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2018 at the Stillwater Bible Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

She was born on February 28th, 1929 in LeFors Texas to Roy and Velma Farless. She graduated from Blackburn High and entered the business world eventually becoming and auto insurance underwriter in Tulsa Oklahoma. After meeting and marrying the love of her life, Lloyd Daugherty, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Prior to his passing she and Lloyd were marred for 59 years.

Always generous and helpful to others she volunteered for 30 years at Stillwater Hospital and Medical Center.

Dora was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Leroy Farless of Tulsa, and her husband. She is survived by sons Ron and Gary Daugherty, her treasured daughters (in law) Trula and Maria, two grandsons Chad and Josh Daugherty and their wives Becki and Jessica, plus five great grand grandchildren, Abel, Daxon, Wyatt, Cash and Colt Daugherty, one sister and brother Mary Carnley of Hominy and Gene Farless of Tulsa.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Stillwater Bible Church.
