Earl Ray Cook
March 20, 1941 ~ June 6, 2001


Earl Ray Cook, 60, Stillwater, died Wednesday, June 6, 2001. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Strode Chapel. Father Bob Schlitt will officiate. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held until noon Saturday. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Strode Funeral Home.

Cook was born March 20, 1941, in Phoenix, Ariz., to John W. and Crescilda [Dorman] Cook. He was married to Carmen [Arrieta] Cook June 6, 1966, in Stillwater. He moved back to Stillwater as a small child. He attended Star Valley School and Stillwater Public Schools. He worked for Poe Cartage, Inc. as a truck driver 38 years. He loved to go camping, hunt and fish. He was a member of the Catholic church.

Cook is preceded in death by his mother in 1975 and his son, Eddie Cook in 1986.

He is survived by his wife, Carmen Cook; his father, John W. Cook; son, Earl R. Cook, Jr. and wife Jennifer (Asbill); four grandchildren, Nathan and Kayla Cook, Stillwater; Vanessa Henry and Alexis Asbill, Stillwater; two sisters, Marge Moser and husband Jim, Perkins; Alita Nicholson and husband Cecil, Glencoe; and brother John Cook and wife Irene, Perkins; special sons, Joe Lee Poe, Stillwater; Ray Clapp, Stillwater; Travis Mayfield, Stillwater; James Riden, Stillwater; special grandchildren, Clayton Porter and Ethan Mayfield, Stillwater; Destinee and Scotty Clapp, Stillwater; C'Anne Riden, Houston, Texas; Saige and Alex Kloster, Stillwater; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Ray Clapp, James Riden, Travis Mayfield, Joe Poe and Nathan Cook.
