Mary Linda [Finger] Caldwell
September 8, 1927 ~ June 29, 2019


Mary Linda Caldwell, 91 entered into eternal rest on June 29, 2019 at Stillwater Medical Center. A graveside service will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Gardens,

6500 S. Perkins Rd. Stillwater, OK 74074. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

Mary was born on September 8, 1927 in D'Hanis, Texas to Frank Finger and Linda Nagal Finger. She attended D'Hanis High School. Mary married her sweetheart, Dale Eldon Caldwell on January 3, 1946 in Hondo, Texas. She was a member of the Lost Creek United Methodist Church and a proud homemaker.

Mary Linda is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter, Faye Ann Caldwell; two sisters, Beatrice Grimsinger and JoNell Fitzsimon.

She is survived by her son; Jim Caldwell and wife Nola, daughters; Barbara Moffit and husband David, Patti Bryant and husband Jeff; grandchildren, Jason Allen, Chase Bryant and his wife Kristi; great-grandchildren; Jackson Dale, Emma Marie, and Colton David. Everett J. Caldwell
May 11, 1930 ~ June 9, 2019


Everett J. Caldwell passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019 in Stillwater. He was 89.

Services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater. Visitation will be 9AM to 8PM Monday, June 17, 2019, at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2PM, Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Calvary Assembly of God Church in Stillwater with Pastor Rusty Rhoads officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Garden.

Pallbearers will be members of Stillwater Fire Department.

Everett was born May 11, 1930 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to James Willis and Catherine Marguerite [Pottier] Caldwell.

He graduated Stillwater High School in 1948. After graduation he worked for Douglas Country Store until he joined the United States Army in March 1951 where he served his country for two years and was honorably discharged in February 1953.

After discharging from the Army he returned to Douglas Country store as a meat cutter.

Everett and Carletta were married on July 3, 1955. They were blessed with 60 years together. She preceded him in death on May 4, 2015.

Everett joined the Stillwater Fire Department in 1960 and retired as Assistant Chief in 1980. He worked for Stillwater Fire Safety while he was a firefighter 1960 - 1965.

In 1965 he returned to cutting meat at various grocery stores on his off days at the fire department. After retiring from the fire department Everett worked for Hoke Lumber, repaired lawn mowers and did carpentry work.

Everett and Carletta were long time members of Odd Fellow & Rebekah Lodges and the Grand Encampment.

Survivors include his son, Mike Caldwell and wife Jeanne of Shawnee, Oklahoma; daughter, Connie King and husband David of Edmond, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Kara Caldwell, Jason King and wife Lindsey, Kami Jones and husband Michael, and Jennifer Gaither and husband Robert; nine great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Zachary, Abigail, Kayleigh, Gillian, Samuel, Nathan, Marshall, and Savannah; two sisters, Irma Brown and husband Bob of Houston, Texas, and Wilma Weir-Hiatt and husband Butch of Stillwater, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; grandson, Scott Caldwell; and two siblings; brother, Owen Caldwell; and sister, Mae Braswell.

Ruby Maxine [Paxton] Caldwell
July 8, 1932 ~ October 16, 2020


Ruby Maxine [Paxton] Caldwell, 91 years, of Cushing, passed away on September 24, 2020, in Tulsa.

Visitation will be 1pm – 4pm Monday, September 28 at Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.

Graveside services will be held 2pm Tuesday, September 29 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 6500 S. Perkins Road, Stillwater, OK, with Pastor Jim Wilhelm of First Christian Church, officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.

Ruby was born at Hydro to James William and Gladys Viola Paxton on May 15, 1929. At Eureka school she enjoyed playing on the girls’ basketball team sporting the number 15! She married George Owen Caldwell on June 30, 1945 in Stillwater. She was a homemaker, wife, and mother to four children. She enjoyed crocheting baby blankets and afghans, and volunteer work included crocheting infant caps for the newborns at Cushing Regional Hospital. She especially enjoyed watching Thunder basketball games, going to church, family visits, and reading. Some of the fondest memories are of her sharing her recipes. She loved to cook, especially with the grandchildren. Some of their favorite memories are the times they spent playing games like bingo, canasta, and dominoes.

Ruby is preceded in death by her parents of Glencoe, husband of Cushing, brother Lawrence and wife Evelyn Paxton of Stillwater, brother-in-law June Pinkston of Yukon, son Harold Caldwell of Tulsa, and son-in-law Donald Porter of Tulsa.

Ruby is survived by sister Dorothy Pinkston of Yukon, and brother Larry and wife Dorothy Paxton of Yukon; Children Brenda Porter of Tulsa, Duane Caldwell of Arlington, Julie and Charles Wise of OKC; Grandchildren Israel and Angel Slingerland of Broken Arrow, Justin and Brandy Porter of Claremore, Lindsay, Amos and Melissa Wise of OKC, and Trish and Mike Atkinson of Broken Arrow; Great-grandchildren Emily and Mason Slingerland, Tristan, Teagan, and Trinity Atkinson, Alexsis, Celeste, Isabel, Katelynn Porter and Great-great-grandchild Lila.

Honorary pallbearers are Duane Caldwell, Israel Slingerland, Justin Porter, Mason Slingerland, Mike Atkinson, and Tristan Atkinson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.

The family of Ruby Caldwell wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at Oklahoma Methodist Manor for their heartfelt and compassionate care.
