Leoa Fae [McHendry] Burrows
June 26, 1932 ~ October 18, 2017


Leota Fae Burrows, 85, of Stillwater, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at her home with her family by her side. Arrangements are under the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater. Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 23rd at 1:00pm at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be held on Saturday, October 21st from 9:00am to 1:00pm and on Sunday, October 22nd from 12:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home.

Leota was born on June 26, 1932 to E.S. and Olie [Vance] McHendry in Meno, Oklahoma. She was one of 11 children. At a young age her mother passed away and her father remarried to Stella Walton. She grew up and graduated from Pioneer High School in 1950. On November 19, 1950 she married the love of her life, Robert S. Burrows at the Pleasant Valley Church in Garfield County. Together they celebrated 66 years together. To this marriage there were three children born.

Leota was a stay at home mom who was also known as a second mom to many children that she provided child care for many years. When she retired from providing childcare, she did residential house cleaning for many local Stillwater residents. Typically if you saw Leota, you would see her with her twin sister Leona. They were inseparable.

Leota is survived by her husband, Robert S. Burrows; three children, Joyce Bensch and spouse Randall, Linda Williams and spouse Brook Smith, Robert Stephen Burrows and spouse Michelle; six grand children, Cheryl Moser, Lashell Williams, Denise Manning, Luke Williams, Ethan Bilodeau; great grandchildren, Morgan Williams, Loryn Moser, Erin Moser, Lydia Williams, Xavier Manning, Jordyn Moser, Audrey Manning, Jovie Manning; three siblings Ellis McHendry, Bonnie Luginbill, Joe McHendry; numerous nieces, nephews, and host of friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, E.S. and Stella McHendry; birth mother, Olie Mae [Vance] McHendry; seven siblings, Ira Lee McHendry, Otis Dean McHendry, Leona Stevens, Curtis McHendry, Joyce Marie McHendry, Lavena McDermott, Donnie McHendry.
