William Allen "Bill" Berkenbile of 3041 E Peachtree died Tuesday, July 27, 1993, in his home at the age of 71.

Services will be at 10:30 am Thursday, July 29, in Strode Chapel with Dr William R. Chace officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Strode Funeral Home.

Memorials may go to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or Judith Karman Hospice..

He was born Dec 9, 1929, in Dover to William E. and Elva [Knox] Berkenbile. He graduated from Dover High School and Southwestern Oklahoma Syate University of Pharmacy.

He married Lilliam Lucille Price on Sept 15, 1942, in Pawnee, and she preceded him in death in March 1967. He then married Gertrude M. "Trudy" Paine om July 14, 1968 in Stillwater.

He moved to Stillwater in 1950 and practiced pharmacy for 39 years, retiring in 1989. He was employed by McCaffree's Drug for 16 years, Central Drug for 16 years and operated his own pharmacy for seven years.

Berkenbile served in World War II and was in Italy, Germany and the invasion of Sicily. He was a member of the Highland Park Methodist Church.

He was also a member of the Stillwater Evening Kiwanis, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, National Association of Druggists and Oklahoma Pharmaceutical Association.

He was also preceased by his parents and one brother.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Conn L. of Broken Arrow, and Charles E. "Joseph" of Albuquerque, NM; three daughters, Karen L. Keeton of Denver, Mary E. Talley and her husband, Max, and Billie Ann Silvers and her husband, Dennis, all of Stillwater; a step-son, Dennis C. Paine of Woodland Hills, Calif' and a step-daughter, Lisa [Paine] Wooten and her husband, Grady, of Little Rock Ark; 13 grandchildren; and one brother, Leo of Skiatook.
