Beverly Jean "Bev" [O.Gara] Arneson

Funeral services for Beverly Jean Arneson, 84, of Stillwater, are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Wednesday in the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel, Stillwater, with Dr. Jim Struthers officiating. There will be no procession to the cemetery. Services are under the direction of Palmer Marler Funeral Home.

Bev was born on Nov. 14, 1924, in Sauk Centre, Minn., to Frank Davy and Frieda Matilda [Gomer] O'Gara. She married her high school sweetheart, James S. Arneson. They later moved to Stillwater where she resided for 51 years. She was employed by the OSU Engineering Duplication Department where she worked as a secretary for 18 years. She was an avid golfer who won many trophies and awards at Lakeside Golf Course. She spent many winters in South Texas playing golf with her friends. Bev's favorite holiday was Christmas because she loved being around her family. She went out to lunch with her friends and family often and was a member of the Lady Elks. Beverly will be remembered for being social, loving and her amazing sense of humor. Bev passed from this life on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, in Stillwater Medical Center following a short illness.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Willie Jay Welch.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jim, of the home; her children, Sandy Wolfe and her husband, Dan, Jay Arneson and his wife, Cathy, and Susie Welch and her husband, Pat; five grandchildren, Darin, Jeff, Jason, Paige and Lynsey; and seven great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bev's name to the Willie Welch Memorial Scholarship Fund at Stillwater High School Athletics Department.

Condolences may be sent using an online guestbook at www.pmcfh.com.
