Betty Ann [Martin] Hagler
August 6, 1940 ~ October 31, 2015


Betty Hagler passed away from this world on Saturday, October 31, 2015 in Wichita, Kansas.

Funeral Services - First Assembly of God Church, Cushing on November 7, 2015. Burial followed at the Silver Star Cemetery, Cushing, OK. Services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK.

Betty Ann Hagler was born on August 6, 1940 to the late Theodore “Teddy” and Elnora [Jackson] Martin.

She was reared in the Perkins/Agra area and was later educated in the Cushing and Stillwater schools..

She married the love of her life James McKinley Hagler on December 15, 1958 and from this union two sons were born, James McKinley Hagler Jr. [Duck] and Sheldon Clisson Hagler. She got the blessing to spend ten years with him until his death in 1968. Then she was blessed to spend another ten years with Willy D. Boyd until he passed.

She was an active member of the Church of the Living God under the direction of Rev. Charles Maxey. She was a lover of life, her children and most of all her grandchildren. She knew no stranger even close friends soon became family in her eyes. She loved to cook and enjoyed doing so.

She leaves to cherish her memories, Aunt Norma Joe Dameron of Wichita, Kansas, Aunt Bernice Williams of Juction City, Kansas, Sister-in-law Cleo Lane of Stillwater, Oklahoma, two sons James M. Hagler Jr. of Wichita, Kansas, Sheldon C. Hagler (Marie) of Cushing, Oklahoma, two granddaughters Olivia Hagler of Wichita, Kansas, Shaunda A. Hagler of Altus, Oklahoma, sister-in-law Katherine Hagler Shinualt of Cushing, Oklahoma, brother-in-law Lonnie Hagler of Cushing, Oklahoma. A dear friend who became a sister, Fern Whibbey of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Claude Martin, Willie Martin and Junior Martin, Sisters, Imogene Williams and Geraldine Hagler.

Lonnie Marvin Hagler
July 26, 1944 ~ April 9, 2021


Lonnie Marvin Hagler, a longtime Cushing, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Friday, April 9, 2021 at the age of 76.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 17, 2021 at First Baptist Church North, Cushing, Oklahoma. Rev. Clifford Tucker will officiate. Interment will follow at Silver Star Cemetery, Cushing, Oklahoma.

Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.

The son of the late James Hagler and Mary [Joseph] Hagler, Lonnie was born on July 27, 1944 in Beggs, Oklahoma. At a young age, Lonnie moved to Cushing with his family where he was reared and educated. As an adult, he entered the U.S. Army serving his country proudly. After coming back from the service, he began working for Payne County as a heavy equipment operator, retiring after many years of service. Lonnie was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church North, where he was a Deacon and Usher for many years. He loved the Lord and his church family. Lonnie enjoyed helping others, would give away the shirt off his back. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews.

Survivors include his sister Katherine Shinault of Cushing, step-daughter Janice Manuel of Drumright, numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, three brothers and three nieces.

James McKinley Hagler III
October 16, 1960 ~ September 15, 2017


James McKinley Hagler III passed away on September 15, 2017 at the Hillcrest Hospital in Cushing with his family by his side. Funeral services will be held at 10am Saturday Sept 23, 2017 at the Palmer Marler funeral Home Chapel, Cushing, Ok. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Ok.

James was born on October 16, 1960 to James McKinley Hagler II and Betty Ann [Martin] in Cushing, Oklahoma. He grew up in the Cushing area. James graduated from Cushing High School in 1979.

James met and married Angelita Lee Werner on September 9, 1989 in Stillwater and to this union one daughter Olivea was born.

While working in construction, his jobs took him to Oklahoma City and Stillwater.

While working in Stillwater, he helped in the construction of Boone Pickens Stadium. James moved to Wichita, Kansas to help take care of his mother until her passing. After the death of his mother, he moved back to Cushing.

James enjoyed playing dominoes, cards, watching OU and Dallas football. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by one daughter: Olivea Hagler, one brother: Sheldon Hagler and wife Marie, and two niceces: Tata and Shaunda, and other numerous of family and friends. James is preceded in death by his parents.
