David Lew "Davie Dub" Ventris
May 16, 1935 ~ October 21, 2020


Davie Lew "Dub" Ventris, 85, passed away October 21, 2020 in Oklahoma City. Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Perkins Cemetery, Perkins, Oklahoma. Arrangements have been entrusted to Dighton Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.

Dub was born the sixth child to Clarence E. Ventris and Alta Wells Ventris on May 16, 1935, in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

After graduating from Stillwater Hjgh School in 1953, he served his county by joining the Marine Corp and served during the Korean War. He married Retha Ann Reynolds July 2, 1959 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. They made their home in the Perkins area. He was employed as a printer for Moore Business Forms. The couple were blessed with three sons and one daughter.

Dub loved spending time with his family, watching Gunsmoke, a good buffet and was a great cook. He also enjoyed football and coached little league. He was an active member in Freedom Church in Perkins.

Survivors include his wife, Retha of the home; his sons and daughter; his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven sibling: Quinton "Big Bub" Ventris, Norma Dean Harris, Carlita LaVerde, Delores "Dosie" Little, Ewel "Bub" Ventris, Judy Davis and Karen Cole; and a son: Timmy Ventris.
