Bethel "Skye" [Gilberts] Bleuskye
January 29, 1949 ~ May 8, 2014

Bethel Bleu-Skye passed on May 8 at the age of 65. She was born January 29, 1949 in Eau Claire, WI.

Skye worked tirelessly to make the dreams of others come true. Her circle of friends was wide and varied. She loved the land, loved animals, and was always exploring ways to be more in tune with nature.

Skye was an entrepreneur, business executive, event creator and producer, marketer and the ultimate networker. During her time in Oregon she was the owner of a landscape company, massage therapy college, and the first retail store offering a unique line of Northwest Indian art.

She was VP of Marketing for a construction company in Miami, FL.

Skye came to Stillwater, OK in 1985. She coordinated and facilitated outdoor experiential based leadership and management seminars and was a Challenge Course Technician. She also ran a non-profit foundation committed to promoting peace throughout the world through entertainment events and land preservation projects. Kidstock, an event for middle school students from all ethnic backgrounds to collaborate and celebrate each other, was created and produced in 1999 by Skye.

She served as the Oklahoma coordinator for The 2004 Presidential Campaign of Dennis Kucinich.

Skye created and hosted an internet radio show "Conversations at the Well" where many well known authors discussed the power of the mind and healing modalities.

Skye is survived by her Beloved Carol Lyons. Also her mother, Jean Gilberts; father, Robert Gilberts, spouse Pat; sister, Debbie Goodman, spouse David all of Eugene, OR; brother, Jim Gilberts, partner Linda Ferry of Monterey, CA; niece, Hillary McBride, spouse Jeff, nephew, Justin Knox, spouse Amanda. Skye has two great nephews, August and Orion Knox.

Many dogs have good homes due to her countless hours of volunteer work at the Perkins Animal Shelter.

In lieu of flowers consider donating to your local animal shelter or providing a loving home for a rescued animal. Great gratitude for the nurses of Judith Karman Hospice in Stillwater for their care at the end of her battle with cancer. A celebration of Skye's life will be June 6, 6:00 pm, Old Church Center, 780 N. Main, Perkins, OK.
