Thelma Louise [Moorman] Higgins
October 27, 1938 ~ September 17, 2019

Thelma Louise Higgins passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 in her home, south of Stillwater, surrounded by family members. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Paradise Cemetery in Coyle, OK. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

Thelma was born in Coyle, OK. on October 27, 1938 and graduated from Coyle High School.

Thelma married Kenneth Higgins on July 14, 1957, and they lived in Stillwater, for a short time, before starting a dairy farm north of Perkins. Kenneth and Thelma operated the dairy in Perkins, later moving to Ripley, for nearly 40 years. Kenneth and Thelma eventually retired from the dairy business and moved back to rural Stillwater where Thelma operated a daycare. Kenneth and Thelma also started K&T Kennel and raised several breeds of dogs. Thelma was involved in many church and school activities. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, and sewing.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Alvis and Audrie Moorman, sister, Lois Carrier, and four brothers, Loyd, Garrell, Clarence, and Steve.

Thelma is survived by her husband, Kenneth; four children, Sherry Chapman of Perkins, Marilyn Beverage, Carla Axtell and Dale Higgins, all of Stillwater, along with 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
