© Davis Funeral Home Cushing, Oklahoma September 2007 Delphia D. "Del" White November 8, 1919 - September 25, 2007 Delphia D. "Del" White, retired from McDonald Douglas-Boeing in California, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 in the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 87 years. The daughter of the late Jasper N. White and Mae Phillips White, Delphia was born on November 8, 1919 in Park Hill, Oklahoma and was reared and educated in the Cushing area, attending Norfolk school. Del was united in marriage to Bill Ellington in 1939 and to this union one son, Doil was born. Following her retirement in 1985, she returned to Cushing and had lived here since that time. She was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church; she enjoyed traveling, shopping, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her son, Doil Ellington and his wife Betty of Cushing; two sisters, Irene Johnson of Yale and Mary Lou Armstrong and her husband Alvin of Jay, OK; three grandchildren, Dale Ellington of Denver, CO, Penni Ellington of Glendale, CA and Ann Ressler and her husband James of Westfield, NY; her great-grandchildren, Nicki Ellington, Justin Russler, Alyssa Ressler, Miranda Ressler, Tabitha Parrish, Kaleb Parrish, Haley Parrish and Jacob Parrish; one Aunt Mildred Phillips of Drumright, OK; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Doil White and Raymond White and her former husband Bill Ellington. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 2 P.M. in the First Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend John Baumert, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawson Cemetery at Yale. The family will greet friends on Friday evening, September 28, from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. in the Floyd Family Center, east of the Funeral Home. |
