Billie Juanita [Stephenson] Brown
August 22, 1938 ~ June 29, 2017


Billie Juanita Brown, a longtime Yale resident, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017 in Stroud with her family by her side at the age of 78. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 3, 2017 at First Assembly of God in Yale. Brother Mich Dershem will officiate. Interment will follow at Lawson Cemetery, Yale, OK.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Yale.

Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Yale, OK.

Billie was born on August 22, 1938 in Seagraves, Texas to the late Claude and Pearl [Welch] Stephenson. She grew up in Seagraves then moved to Westville, Oklahoma where she graduated from Westville High School in 1955. Billie married Burl Sheppard on October 30, 1956 in Stilwell, Oklahoma, to this union Terri, Sherry, Burl and Lisa were born. They lived in Stilwell for a number of years then moved to Yale. After moving to Yale, she began working at Yale Nursing Home as a CMA, retiring after 35 years. Billie met Myron Brown in 1974 and married him on March 30, 1975. They made their home in Yale. Billie will be remembered as the Garage Sale Queen. She also enjoyed reading, collecting remembrances, watching old westerns, and visiting God’s garage. Billie loved taking care of her daughter Lisa and being with all the family.

Billie is survived by her husband Myron Brown of the home, sons Burl Sheppard and wife Mary of Ponca City, daughters Terri Jacobs and John Canon of Norman, Sherry Harris and husband Daniel of Maysville, Ark., Lisa Sheppard of Stroud, stepson Jimmy Brown and wife Jessie of Yale and Johney Brown of Jennings, stepdaughter Becky Withiam and husband Doug of Cushing, sisters Darlene Bradford of Stilwell, Joyce Raleigh and husband Earl of Weatherford, Ok., 20 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Ronnie Brown, sisters Jean McDaniel and Mary Meadows, brothers Olen Stephenson, Garland Stephenson, and Raymond Stephenson.
