© Grace Memorial Chapel Ponca City, Oklahoma August 2018 Charley Murray May 29, 1957 ~ August 24, 2018 Charley Murray of Ponca City passed away Friday evening at his home. He was 61 years of age. He was born on May 29, 1957 to Kerwin and Henrietta Wilson Murray JR in St Louis, MO. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2018 in the Iowa Tribal Cemetery in Perkins, OK. Visitation will be Monday, August 27, 2018 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City, OK. Charley was orphaned at a young age, so he grew up in the American Legion Children’s home. Charley graduated from Po High in 1976 and then served a tour of duty with the United States Marine Corp. Charley has lived in several states and while in California he played Semi pro football and while he was living up north he enjoyed Ice Fishing. Charley is survived by 2 sons: Edward Murray of Peoria, ILL, Jerrod Murray of Aurora, CO, 1 granddaughter; Charley Rose Gray. Brothers: Bill Murray, Kirby Murray, Leo Murray, Tulane Murray. Sisters; Penny O’Neal and Ester Murray. Also surviving are his adopted parents: Garland and Lucy Kent of Ponca City, Sister Jayne Kent of Ponca City, brothers; Junior Kent of Ponca City, Tyler Kent of Houston, TX and Tom Kent of Ponca City, numerous nieces and nephews and extended family: Pam Dirkes – Williams and Cindy Deal. Charley was preceded in death by his Parents, 4 brothers; Dan, Howard, Larry and Louis and 1 sister: Angie. Online condolences may be done at www.gracememorialchapel.net |
