Mindy Renee [Wolfe] Waren
1980 ~ 2009

Mindy Renee Waren, 28, of Perkins, died on Monday, Jan. 19, 2009, in Stillwater. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday in Perkins Tryon High School gymnasium with Pastor Max Rudd officiating. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Perkins. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on July 9, 1980, in Edmond, to Ted L. Wolfe and Marilyn Lynn (Nelson) Wolfe.

In her 28 years, although brief, she accomplished a lot. She attended Wellston and Perkins schools and graduated from Perkins Tryon High School in 1998. She was very active in sports, especially softball and basketball. She was a starter on the Perkins Tryon High School 1997 basketball team which won the state runner up trophy.

While attending University of Central Oklahoma she met and married the love of her life, Rocky Waren. They were married in Lost Creek United Methodist Church on June 21, 2003.

She then attended Redlands Community College in El Reno and obtained her associate's degree in nursing. She worked as a registered nurse for 5 1/2 years specializing in hospice where she touched many lives. Her illness had kept her from doing the job that she loved for the past year so she became the spokesperson for the Oklahoma Blood Institute.

She was the youngest of seven siblings and was blessed with many nieces and nephews. She was so grateful for her family. She was an animal lover and her dogs and cats were her children. Especially, Whiskey, "her" dog.

She is survived by her husband, Rocky Dean Waren and her pets of Perkins; parents, Ted L. Wolfe and Marilyn L. Wolfe of Perkins; father and mother-in-law, Dean and Susan Waren of Perry; grandfather, Kenneth Nelson of Perkins; grandmothers, Doris Waren of Perry and AddieBelle Green of Perry; siblings, TJ Wolfe and his wife, Jody, of El Reno, Trica Gordon and her husband, Larry, of Perkins, Carla Lester and her husband, Scotte, of Perkins, Charles Wolfe and his wife, Michelle, of Meeker, Amy Jenkins and her husband, Brian, of Guthrie and Misty Sweeney and her husband, Terry, of Jay; and brother and sister-in-law, Ray and LeEllen Waren of Perry. Survivors also include 21 nieces and nephews whom she loved greatly and took so much pride in. She made a tremendous impact on all of their lives. She is also survived by many in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends too numerous to count.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Oklahoma Blood Institute,

Mindy Renee [Wolfe] Waren
