Donald Lee Olinghouse
February 2, 1934 ~ June 28, 2018


Donald Lee "Duck" Olinghouse, 84, passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Brookdale Senior Living in Stillwater, OK. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at the Glencoe South Cemetery, Glencoe OK.

On February 2, 1934, Don was born to F.A. "Fuzzy" and Lois L. [Qualls] Olinghouse in Glencoe, OK. He was one of three sons. He was raised west of Yale and graduated from Quay High School, where he loved playing basketball and being a baseball pitcher.

Don and Barbara Martin were married on June 16, 1955 and to this this union their daughter, Vickie was born.

On May 23, 1981, Don married Virginia Ruth [Goodson] Thomas in Payne County, OK. Duck loved to fish!! He farmed, worked construction and was a welder at National Tank in Tulsa. In 1977 he started his own business, Olinghouse Steel and Fabrication outside of Stillwater, OK. He later started a second business, Olinghouse Truckbed and Trailer. In April of 2003, Don and Virginia received the Payne County Farm Bureau Agribusiness of the Year Award. Both retired from business in October, 2011. Duck was loved and will be missed by many!

Don was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Francis [Jay] Olinghouse, Jr. and Robert Eugene Olinghouse.

Don is survived by daughter, Vickie Austell [Rex]; stepson, Steve Thomas [Victoria]; stepdaughter, Debbie Hofman [Greg]; grandchildren, Dustin Jacobs, MacGregor Thomas, and Mackenzie Thomas; and three beautiful great-granddaughters.
