Hugh H. "Doc" Hesser

Hugh H. “Doc” Hesser, 78, of Glencoe, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016 at St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater. Graveside service will be held on Monday, December 5 at 10:30am at Glencoe IOOF Cemetery. A luncheon will be served following the service at Glencoe Senior Citizen Center.

Hugh was born on September 30, 1938 to William and Ethel [Mitchell] Hesser in Glencoe, Oklahoma. He grew up and attended Glencoe Schools.

Hugh married his love of his life, Barbara on September 18, 1957 in Arkansas. They celebrated 53 years together before her passing in 2010.

Hugh enjoyed camping, fishing, and cheering on his OU team. Most of all he enjoyed getting to spend time with his family.

Hugh is survived by his two daughters, Tammy Pappan and husband, Darrell of Pawnee, Oklahoma, Denell Edwards and husband, Stephen of Bella Vista, Arkansas; two sister, Callie Schreter and her husband, C.J. of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Genieve Snyder of Stillwater, Oklahoma; one brother, Billy Hesser of Cushing, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Lea Smith and husband, Joe of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Deanna Edwards of Longmont, Colorado, Tanya Pool and husband, Scott of Pawnee, Oklahoma, William Pappan and wife, Lacey of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and six great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Ethel [Mitchell] Hesser; wife, Barbara Hesser; two sister, Millie Gilchrist and Ruby McKaughn; and two brothers, Fred and Max Hesser.

Fred Oran Hesser

Fred Oran Hesser, age 86, of Midwest City, passed away on March 4, 2014 in Midwest City at Manor Care Nursing Facility.

Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater, OK and a service celebrating Fred's life will be held at 11:00am on Friday, March 7, 2014, at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Glencoe IOOF Cemetery in Glencoe, OK.

Public visitation will be held from 8am to 8pm on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the funeral home.

Fred was born on March 10th, 1927 in Glencoe, OK to Bill & Ethel Hesser. He grew up and attended school in Glencoe.

Fred joined the US Navy in 1944 and was stationed in San Diego until being deployed to Okinawa where he served on the crew of the USS San Saba and USS Hocking during WWII.

In 1945, Fred returned to Glencoe to work for Stillwater Dairy and Groendyke Transport out of Enid. He relocated to Stroud to work for Lloyd A Fry Roofing, where he worked his way up from a truck driver to Office Manager.

Fred moved to Midwest City and spent many years working as a Superintendent for the Jay Tompkins & Co. He then went to work for Ben Cates of Midwest Wrecking as Field Superintendent and worked there until retiring in 1992.

Fred remained great friends with Jay and Ben until death. Fred went to work for Midwest Wrecking Co. in 1983 and was a loyal employee for almost twenty years. He was hired as a Field Superintendent and his knowledge, honesty and trustworthiness made him invaluable to the company.

Some of the Major projects that he had a direct impact on were the demolition of the Alfred P. Murrah Building, the Demolition of OPUBCO building on Broadway, the old train depot in Amarillo, and the partial demolition of Building 3001 at TAFB. There were many other projects, too numerous to mention, for which Fred was directly responsible.

Fred took his responsibilities very seriously and was extremely conscientious to make sure that all of his projects were completed safely and efficiently. Fred's retirement from Midwest left big shoes to fill.

Fred enjoyed collecting antiques, coin collecting with his son George, collecting old bottles with his son Fred and receiving his favorite magazine "Coin World".

He also loved football and baseball season and his two favorite teams to follow were OU football and St. Louis Cardinals baseball.

After retirement, Fred became an incredible 15 yr. companion to his small furry rescue dog, "Snip."

He is preceded in death by son: Fred Eugene Hesser of Connorville, parents: Bill & Ethel Hesser of Glencoe, brother: Max Oliver Hesser of Midwest City, sisters: Ruby McKaughan & Husband Bob of Glencoe, Millie Gilchrest of Glencoe, sister-in-law: Barbara Hesser of Glencoe.

He is survived by his son, George Hesser and wife Sharon of Yukon & daughter-in-law, Sammye Hesser of Pearland, TX, two grandsons, Jamie & wife Tonya of Mustang, Joel of Wichita, granddaughters, Destiny Walker of Edmond, Aaron Parsons of Wichita, three great grandsons, Jacob Hesser of Mustang, Levi Walker of Edmond and Trent Parsons of Wichita, three great granddaughters, Lauren and Kassidy Hesser of Mustang, Kristen Parsons of Wichita, one great great grandaughter, Tatum Parsons of Wichita, two brothers, Hugh "Doc" Hesser of Glencoe, Billy Hesser and wife Nancy of Colcord, two sisters, Ginny and husband Orin Snyder of Stillwater, Callie and husband C.J. Schreter of Midwest City, as well as numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, friends and longtime neighbors.

Thanks to Heartland Hospice, Manor Care and the many friends and family for their loving support during Fred's long hard battle with cancer.

By the Old Rugged Cross, you sit with a smile, waiting for those you have left for a while and those that you have left, with their grief and their loss, will meet you one day by that "Old Rugged Cross."

Randy R. "David" Hesser

Randy R. "David" Hesser, 52, of Stillwater passed away on October 25, 2011. Palmer Marler Funeral Home has been entrusted with the services which will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2011 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ron Weathers presiding.


 Burial will follow at Glencoe IOOF Cemetery.


 Randy was born on August 12, 1959 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Richard Lee Creager and Joy Roberson Creager.


 The family returned to Glencoe in 1960 where Randy grew up, graduating Glencoe High School with the class of 1977.

He had a long career at Oklahoma State University in the Student Union and most recently at the Physical Plant where he did renovations, repairs, and remodels.


 In his spare time he enjoyed motorcycles, carpentry, building furniture, photography, and restoring old cars but his greatest passion was spending time with his 6 grandchildren.

Randy was preceded in death by his biological father, Richard Lee Creager and by his adopted father, Max Oliver Hesser.


 Survivors include his mother Joy Laramore and husband Don of Glencoe; two sons Jason Horton and wife Betsy of Edmond, and Shane Horton and wife Jill of Guthrie, , two brothers, Rick Hesser of Ponca City and David Laramore and wife Sarah of Morrison; two sisters, Patty Rogers and husband Steve of Stillwater, Dayna Barton of Glencoe; six grandchildren, Tyler, Tate, Devon, Kaitlyn, Ethan, and Gillian as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
