Agatha Ryan Brown, longtime former Cushing resident, now of Norman, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2006 in Norman at the age of 72 years.

The daughter of the late Lawrence V. Ryan and Jessie W. Dryden Ryan, Agatha was born on April 26, 1933 in Yale, OK and was reared and educated in this area, graduating from Norfork High School in 1951.

She was married to Marion Milley Brown on August 8, 1951 in the Advent Christian Church and he preceded her in death on February 23, 1996.

Agatha was a longtime member of the First Christian Church of Cushing, where she had been active in the Women’s Group; she served as a Deacon of the Church and had taught Sunday School for several years and had held various offices at the Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and canning, and for many years had been a volunteer for the Cushing Regional Hospital Auxiliary. She was an avid reader and loved trying new things.

Survivors include her children, Peggy Louise Page and her husband Robert of Euless, TX, Karen Sue Qualley and her husband Warren of Blanchard, OK, Marion Milley Brown, Jr. of Plano, TX, Brenda June Newton and her husband Rick of Keller, TX, and Mark Allen Brown and his wife Cindy of Benbrook, TX; one sister, Judith Griffis and her husband Robert of Edmond; one brother Dudley Ryan and his wife Annette of Edmond; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son and one brother.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. in the First Christian Church with Reverend Larry Haney, pastor, officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Davis Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
