David Vaughn Roush
July 12, 1962 ~ July 8, 2006


David Vaughn Roush, Skiatook resident, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2006 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 43 years.

David was born July 12, 1962 to Charles and Doris Jean Roush in Joliet, Illinois.

At age 14 David and his mother moved to Cushing, where David graduated from Cushing High School in 1980.

Dave attended and received his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Education from Oklahoma State University in 1985. After teaching school for a year in the Broken Arrow School system, he became employed by Williams Companies as a station operator continuing with Magellan Midstream after their takeover, for 19 years.

Dave was a member and steward of the Local Steel Workers Union. Dave was the owner of DR Tournament Productions, which promoted the Skeeter/Yamaha Tour bass fishing tournaments. He also directed The Tulsa Metro Bass Club until 2004 and The Grand Challenge Bass Tournament from its inception in 1998 through 2004. Dave was the Tournament Director for The Great Catch Open held this past April. He also developed and directed the Top 20 Oklahoma State Team Championship.

Dave was an avid angler, but loved to hunt as much as he fished. He also served on the Board of Directors of Oklahoma Anglers Unlimited and fished in several tournament trails.

He was united in marriage to Cindi Coughlin on August 5, 2000 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Dave is survived by his wife Cindi of the home; stepson Jeremy White of Tulsa; sister, Linda Newton and her husband Randy of Cushing; niece, Christina Peery of Perry and her sons Lukus and Caleb. Along with his faithful companion of 12 years, his Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Molly. Dave is also survived by a host of family and friends that will miss him dearly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be held Friday, July 14, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. in the Asbury Mason Chapel, 6767 S. Mingo, Tulsa with Reverend Ted Uhlig officiating.

Burial will be held on July 14, 2006 at 4:00 P.M. in the Euchee Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, Cushing.

The family will greet friends at the Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. He will lie in state at the Freeman Harris Funeral Home, 3333 E. 41st St., Tulsa on Thursday from 3-8 p.m.

Following the burial, the family will meet at Freddie’s Steakhouse in Drumright and encourage all family and friends to celebrate Dave’s life.
