Lela Mae [Wardwell] Harmon
September 13, 1909 ~ May 24, 2007


Lela Mae Harmon, Cushing resident, passed away on May 24, 2007 in the Bellevue Nursing Home at the age of 96 years.

The daughter of the late James Repolin Wardwell and Nancy Boles Wardwell, Lela was born on September 13, 1909 in Maysville, OK and was raised in Maysville and Wynnewood.

She was united in marriage to Adrian Harmon on October 19, 1929 in Pawnee, OK. To this union one son, Ron, was born. Adrian preceded her in death on February 6, 1991.

Lela enjoyed sewing and quilting.

Survivors include four grandchildren, Nancy Weale, Stacey Harmon, Scott Harmon and Janet Harmon; three great-grandchildren, Amanda Joy Edwards, Zachary Craig Harmon and Ryan Grant and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Ron Harmon and six siblings, Henry Taylor, Francis Ellen Deerinwater, Roxie Artberry, Mary Bridges, James E. Wardwell and Quaid White.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, May 27, 2007 at 3:00 P.M. in the Euchee Valley Memorial Park Cemetery with Darrel Raney officiating.

Burial will follow in the Euchee Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cushing Senior Citizen, in Lela's name.
