James A. "Pete" Goad
May 24, 1965 ~ November 13, 2007


James A. “Pete” Goad, longtime employee of Grand River Dam Authority, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 in the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 42 years.

The son of Jimmie Lee Goad and Pat Brooks Goad, Pete was born on May 24, 1965 in Fairfax, Oklahoma.

The family came to Cushing when he was a small child, graduating from Cushing High School in the class of 1983, later attending Central Vo-Tech.

He was united in marriage to Shelly Tsoodle on October 27, 1984 in Cushing and to this union two children, Dustin and Mikayla, were born.

Pete was a member of the First Baptist Church.

He enjoyed working with the FFA Booster Club; hunting; farming; cooking, and for several years had been active with the Boy Scouts, serving for one year as Scout Master.

Pete had worked for over 13 years with the Grand River Dam Authority and prior to that had worked for the City of Cushing in the power plant.

Survivors include his wife Shelly of the home; two children, Dustin and Mikayla both of the home; his parents, Jim and Pat Goad of Cushing; one sister Rhonda Kannady and her husband Pat of Broken Arrow; his father-in-law Judson Litchfield and his wife Vicki of Jacksonville, FL; his mother-in-law Ann Clawson and her husband Jack of Oilton; a brother-in-law Brad Litchfield of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters-in-law, Sherri Strader and her husband Zane and Jacklyn Ritter and her husband Craig of Claremore; several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Services will be held on Friday, November 16, 2007 at 2 P.M. in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Lonny Lee officiating.

Burial will follow in the Euchee Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will greet friends on Thursday evening from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. in the Floyd Family Center, east of the funeral home
