Arizona G. [Link] Rose
March 29, 1918 ~ November 10, 2013


Arizona G. Rose, 90, died on May 15, 2013 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 20th at Sunnybrook Christian Church. Interment will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Arizona was born on September 25, 1922 in Avard, Oklahoma to John and Josephine "Josie" [Gourley] Link. She graduated high school in Avard, Oklahoma, and married the love of her life, Carl Rose, on April 7, 1941. She loved to spend time with her family and camping out. Arizona also loved hosting family reunions, listening to OSU ballgames on the radio, and being a den mother for Cub Scouts. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Alva, the 9th Avenue Christian Church, and Sunnybrook Christian Church in Stillwater.

Arizona is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, James and Terry Rose; six sisters, Elsie Turner, Marie Ralston, Tempie Sanderson, Ruby Ewing, Onnie Collins and Virginia Schenosky; and seven brothers, James, Paul, Clay, Freddie, Brunell, Herbert and Hubert Link.

She is survived by her son, Tom Rose, and his wife, Dena James-Rose; eight grandchildren, Jason Rose, Teresa Brunnemer and husband David, Juli Creager and husband Steven, Brandi Brown and husband Craig, Jamie Loomis, Megan Hutchison and husband Richard, John Henry and wife Lori, and Amanda Moody and husband Derek; eighteen great grandchildren, Kylee Russell and husband Clayton, Kenna, Cody, Morgan, Jaden, Chase, Kaitlyn, Taylor, Tyler, Brena, Lilli, Brooke, Brandon, Laney, Haley, Laney, Lawson and Parker; two great great grandchildren, Carlee Russell and Carrter Rose; and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers will include Joshua James, Justen James, George Hill, Don Glidewell, Kirby Spickler and Bill Graves.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Rose, John Henry, David Brunnemer, Richard Hutchison, Derek Moody, Steven Creager, Cody Rose, Morgan Brunnemer, Chase Creager, Tyler Shannon, Brandon Curtis, Lawson Henry, Tylor James and Jorden James.

Memorial contributions may be made in Arizona's name to Judith Karman Hospice at PO Box 818, Stillwater, OK 74076; or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
