© Stillwater News Press Stillwater, Oklahoma November 13, 2013 Margaret [Waite] Morrison March 29, 1918 ~ November 10, 2013 Graveside services for Margaret Waite Morrison, a 95-year-old Richardson, Texas, resident, will be held on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Elm Grove Cemetery, located southwest of Stillwater. She died Nov. 10, 2013, at her residence, The Gardens of Richardson, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Margaret moved from Stillwater to Richardson, Texas, on Nov. 20, 2007. Officiating will be Pastor Scott Springer, husband of Sandra Waite, daughter of John and Louis Waite. Arrangements are under the direction of Strode Funeral Home. Margaret [Waite] Morrison was born in 1918 in a log cabin southwest of Perkins. The cabin is located near 140th Street and Redlands Road just north of the Cimarron River. As a child, she attended Goodnight and Perkins schools. Margaret majored in English and graduated with Honors from Oklahoma A&M in 1939. As a freshman, she met Dr. Robert Dean Morrison, Ph.D., and upon graduation, they married. Her son, Dr. William Dean Morrison, was born on Valentine's Day in 1942. Bill was a spotter pilot in the Vietnam War. Margaret worked for Oklahoma A&M in the Extension division and assisted Dr. Morrison's graduate students with preparing their Ph.D. theses. Margaret was an avid golfer, enjoyed the outdoors and was an excellent seamstress. Surviving are her brother, William Moore Waite and his wife June Livermore of Roseville, Calif.; brother Carl Wesley Waite and his wife Phyllis Ann Peterman, of Richardson, Texas; and many nieces, several nephews and other family members. Margaret was preceded by her parents, William Clarence Waite and Lena Pearl Moore Waite, her husband Dr. Robert Dean Morrison, Ph.D., and her son Dr. William Dean Morrison. Also preceding her were three brothers and a sister; John Albert Waite of Broken Arrow, Maurice Gale Waite of Jacksonville, Fla., Thomas Walter Waite of Merritt Island, Fla., and Lucile Waite Barton of San Jose, Calif. |
