Robert Lee "Bob" Stanbrough
August 16, 1931 - May 20, 2017


Robert Lee ‘Bob’ Stanbrough, 85, of Guthrie, OK passed away on Saturday May 20, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born on August 16, 1931 in Coyle, OK to Emma (Boyce) and Robert Stillman Stanbrough.

Bob graduated from Coyle High School in 1949. He married the love of his life, Charlene Henderson on June 1, 1952. Bob served eight years in the United States Air Force receiving his honorable discharge in 1959. Bob spent 27 years working for Cain’s Coffee. His part time, but most beloved job, was raising cattle on their farm in Logan County. Bob and Charlene retired to their Guthrie residence in 2007.

Bob is survived by his wife Charlene, daughters Elizabeth [David] Hull of Edmond, Sharla [Tommy] Weaver of Wheeler, TX and Nancy [Marsh] Powell of Guthrie. Bob is survived by the following grandchildren: John [Christie] Blackburn, Renee [Kris] Haynes, Erica [Daniel] Highsmith, Kristina [Brig] Hull, Lauren [Brandon] Chick, Leslie Weaver, Tyler Powell, Brooke [Dylan] Harman and eight great- grandchildren. Heis also survived by his sister Lila Longan of Coyle along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob was a life time supporter of OSU. He especially enjoyed Cowboy baseball and basketball as he played both sports during his high school days. Bob’s work ethic was honed during the Great Depression as he worked outside of the home to help support his widowed mother at the age of 10. He will always be admired for his honesty, integrity and his unending love for his immediate and extended family.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Virginia [Jack] Hare, Marie [James] Duffey, brother D.C. Phillips and sister in law Carol (Marvin) Davis.

Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the First Christian Church in Guthrie. Interment will be held at Clarkson Cemetery in Coyle. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM on Tuesday at the Smith Gallo Funeral home in Guthrie.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Christian Church in Guthrie.

The family would like to thank Companion Healthcare and Golden Age Nursing Home for the wonderful care given to Bob.

Charlene Rachel [Henderson] Stanbrough
August 20, 1933 ~ October 3, 2018


Charlene Stanbrough, 85, of Guthrie, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born on August 20, 1933 in Winfield, KS to Ray and Lula Henderson.

Charlene graduated from Coyle High School in 1951. She married Bob Stanbrough on June 1, 1952. She was a homemaker and also worked part time at the UCO print shop. When they moved to their farm in Logan County, she helped Bob on their farm. Bob and Charlene retired to their Guthrie residence in 2007.

Charlene is survived by daughters: Elizabeth [David] Hull of Edmond, Sharla [Tommy] Weaver of Wheeler, TX and Nancy [Marsh] Powell of Guthrie. Charlene is survived by the following grandchildren: John [Christie] Blackburn, Renee [Kris] Haynes, Erica [Daniel] Highsmith, Kristina [Brig] Hull, Lauren [Brandon] Chick, Leslie Weaver, Tyler Powell, Brooke [Dylan] Harman and 8 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in- law Lila Longan of Coyle and brother–in-law Marvin Davis of Perkins along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Charlene loved to be with her family, especially her grandchildren and great -grandchildren. Her grandchildren called her Meme and her great grandchildren called her GiGi, which was her request! Charlene loved OSU football and basketball and Thunder basketball.

Charlene was preceded in death by her husband Bob, her parents Ray and Lula Henderson, sister Carol Davis and brother Charles Henderson.

Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Tuesday, October 9 at the First Christian Church in Guthrie. Interment will follow at Clarkson Cemetery in Coyle, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held Monday from 2:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. with the family receiving guests from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Christian Church in Guthrie.

The family would like to thank Ash Street Place, Mercy Logan County Hospital and Companion Healthcare for the wonderful and loving care they gave to Mom.
