Billy Ray Hicks
January 10, 1944 ~ March 22, 2019


Billy Ray Hicks, 75, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2019 at his home in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 from 9:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at Solid Rock Church in Stillwater. Interment will follow at Clarkson Cemetery near Coyle, Oklahoma.

Bill was born on January 10, 1944 in Deer Lodge, Tennessee to Tillmon and Margie [Atkinson] Hicks. He grew up in Deer Lodge and graduated from Sunbright…High School in 1962. He joined the Navy from 1961 to 1965.

Bill married Linda Hicks on September 4, 1993 in Stillwater and they both attended Solid Rock Church.

Bill worked for 45 years at the city of Stillwater Utilities.

He served in 3 campaigns in the Vietnam War and Cuban Missile Crisis on the USS Cogswell Naval Ship.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his first wife Joyce Hicks, his second wife Linda Hicks. His sisters Doris Lawson and Dorine Devaney, brother Wilford Hicks and his parents Tillmon and Margie Hicks.

He is survived by his son William Craig Hicks and wife Pam, daughters, Leslie Gillpatrick of Stillwater and Lou Ann Grantham and her husband Virgil of Eufaula, Oklahoma; his grandchildren Lauren Hicks, Drue Gillpatrick, Marissa Swink and husband Rodney, Rebekah Granthan, MaKayla Ives and husband Justin, Brently Grantham, Elizabeth Grantham, Levi Grantham; great grandchildren Zola Swink, Cayden Swink and Chris Swink. He is also survived by his brother Kenneth Hicks.
