Goldie F. Hamilton Burgess

Goldie F. Burgess, Oklahoma City resident, passed away on November 10, 2007 at her residence at the age of 86 years.

The daughter of the late Ernest Hamilton and Florence Brown Hamilton, Goldie was born on June 6, 1921 in Indiahoma, Oklahoma.

She grew up in Headrick, Oklahoma near Altus, and spent most of her adult life in Oklahoma City.

On March 29, 1941 she married Lester F. Burgess of Clarksville, Arkansas. They were married over 66 years.

Goldie loved and enjoyed her three granddaughters and six great-grandchildren.

She was a talented needle worker and artist, and she loved all of her pets and working in her yard.

Survivors include her husband, Lester, of the home; daughter and son-in-law Joan ad Glenn Holderread of Cushing; granddaughters, Sara Wright and her husband Brett, Ann Yankunas and her husband Dan and Cindy Sturm and her husband Mike; great-grandchildren include Koln Wright, Austin Yankunas, Abigail Wright, Jacob Sturm, Katie Sturm and Luke Sturm and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother’s Marshall Hamilton, Lloyd Hamilton and Andy Hamilton and sister Mildred Parker.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. in the Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Cushing.
