Joe Alan Pettit
March 7, 1939 ~ September 1, 2010


Joe Alan Pettit, a longtime resident of the Chandler Nursing Center, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2010 in the Stroud Regional Medical Center, Stroud, OK at the age of 71 years.

Graveside services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing and will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 4, 2010 in the Bethel Cemetery, Glencoe, OK with Pastor Robert Adams officiating.

The son of the late Jessie Pettit and Eva [Mankin] Pettit, Joe was born on March 7, 1939 in Yale, OK.

Joe dearly loved Elvis, he even had an Elvis costume which he would wear on Halloween or on any other day if given the opportunity. Many will remember his infectious smile and his love of people.

Joe is survived by one brother, Harley Pettit of Cushing; one sister, Patsie Staffeldt of Tucson, AZ; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends including the loving staff of the Chandler Nursing Center.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by one brother, Marvin and two sisters, Viola and Irene.

Graveside services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing and will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 4, 2010 in the Bethel Cemetery, Glencoe, Oklahoma with Pastor Robert Adams officiating.
