It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Alice June Wood, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and auntie who passed peacefully on August 29, 2025 in Pawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 87.

Alice was born on August 9,1938 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Henry and Lonie (Tatum) Chapman. She married Charles Wood on May 13, 1977 until his death in 1982. She was a proud and loving Mother of 3 children, Johnnie Chapman, Ricky Lee Chapman (deceased) and daughter, Charaine Wood. 6 Grandchildren, Tommy Dale, Charlie and Johnnie Alan Chapman, Lisa Gooday, Charley and Allyson Wood. 18 Great grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Alice was born the 8th of 11 siblings, six brothers, Basil, Thomas, Earl, Lloyd "Blackie", Robert, and Charlie Chapman, four sisters Daisy Miller, Wanda and Millie Chapman and Linda Jestes. She grew up on the Chapman home place west of Pawnee and attended Pawnee Indian School.

She spent 38 dedicated years working for Lucent Technologies, formerly Western Electric/AT&T Technologies in Oklahoma City as an electrical technician where she was admired for her work ethic until her retirement. Beyond her career she developed a skill of quilting and created beautiful traditional star blankets in honor of a birth, graduation, marriage or gifts of love to family. If you were fortunate to receive one of her quilts may they warm your body and comfort your soul as you remember the memories she stitched with love for you in mind. Whatever things are true, just, pure, lovely, if there be any praise think on these things, Phillipians 4:8
