John Clent Wilson passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at his home in Ponca City at the age of 76. Viewing will be from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, December 27, 2024, at Trout Funeral Home. A Graveside ceremony will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Y-Bar Ranch Cemetery. Pastor Jay Clapp will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.
John was born on January 17, 1948, in San Jose, CA, to Roy C. Wilson and Mary Helen (Bryant) Wilson. He graduated from Ralston High School in 1967. He later served time in the US Air Force. He spent many years as a truck driver.
John is survived by: his wife, Carrie Wilson; daughters, Shannon and husband, Branden Spears, Stacey Wilson and husband, Jeremy Barnhart. John had many grandchildren, Dylan McKinney, Delanie McKinney, TJ Brien II, Tobi Brien, Thomas, Tyler, and Tori Wilson and son, Arlo, and Electra Wilson. John has one great-grandchild, Beckham Brien. He was is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. John is preceded in death by: his parents, Roy and Mary Helen Wilson; aunt and uncles, Leonard and Rosilee Bryant; son, John C. Wilson JR.; brother, Roy Wilson, and sister, Karen Dobbs.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Smith, Harley Smith, TJ Brien, Dylan McKinney, Chase Kelley, and Dale Kelley III. Honorary Pallbearers will be Floyd Kelley, Dale Kelley I, William Walker, Ted Smith, Todd Kelly, Dale Kelley II, Branden Spears, and Jeremy Barnhart.
