Forrest Eugene "Frosty" Goad

Forrest Eugene “Frosty” Goad, lifelong resident of the Big Bend community, passed away at his home on Sunday, October 14, 2012. He was 80 years, 2 months and 21 days of age. He is the son of Otis Clair “Babe” Goad and Lucille Rozella (Rice) Goad. He attended grade school in the Big Bend Woodland School and was a 1950 graduate of Ralston High School. He married Barbara Ann Christenson on October 13th, 1951 in Burbank, Oklahoma. The couple just celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. The couple began their married life farming and ranching not far from where Frosty was born and raised. To their union was born four children, David Eugene, Gregory Alan, Beverly Ann and Carl Bradley.

Frosty had a great love for hunting and being outdoors. He was a member of the Ralston Bible Church where he had served as deacon. He had served on the Ralston School Board for many years and was currently a board member of the Farm Service Agency of Osage County. He is survived by his wife, Ann, of the home; his four children, Dave Goad and wife, Sandye, of Ralston, Greg Goad and wife Vonda, of Ralston, Beverly Day and husband Joe, of Pawnee, and Carl Goad and wife Connie, of Ralston; one sister, Trelma Rowden and husband Chuck, of Ponca City; and one brother, Larry Goad and wife Nancy, of Burbank; ten grandchildren, Joe Craig, Dan'Yel, Sarah, Kristi, Suni, Carrie, Lauren, Brady, Lindsay and Casey; fourteen great grandchildren with three more on the way. Frosty was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Ben Almand; and a brother-in-law, Roy Mitchell.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the Ralston Bible Church with former pastor Roy Emmons Sr. presiding. Burial will follow in the Big Bend Pixley Cemetery under the direction of the Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home of Fairfax.

Casket bearers are grandsons Joe Craig Day, Brady Goad, Casey Goad, Sean Swafford, Ben Gerber and Keith Rogers. Honorary casket bearers are Mark Carter, Robert Thompson Jr., Danny Graham and Matt Haney.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for either Heart Research or COPD Research, 825 NE 13th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73104.
