Shockley Taliaferro Shoemake, 92, of Pawhuska, Oklahoma died June 2, 2015, at his home . Shockley was born at White Sands Teacherage near Bennington, Oklahoma, on November 5, 1922, the only son of Ceph Shoemake and Ora Belle Shoemake. He was married to Hazel Ann Hunt in 1955. Shockley served In the Oklahoma House of Representatives, representing Osage County from 1950-1960. During that time, his political and legal careers were again interrupted when he served as Captain with the 45th Infantry division during the Korean War. Shockley was an avid historian and Civil War buff. Aside from his family, Shockley's passion was flying his Cessna 152, which he continued to do until a month before his death.

Shockley is survived by his four children: Bransford Hunt (Darlene) of Bartlesville, OK; John Taliaferro of Tahlequah, OK; Shelley Ann (Pat) Blizzard of Kingwood, TX; and Sheila Lou of Guthrie, OK.
