LuAnn Ellen Theis Rhode Copeland passed away, Tuesday June 12, 2018, at Brookdale Tallgrass Assisted Living Center in Wichita, Kansas. She was born May 10, 1938 in Pawhuska, OK to Virgil and Jessa Mae Theis. She graduated from Newman Hospital School of Nursing in Emporia, Kansas in 1960. She retired as a school nurse from the Dodge City, Kansas school district. She had a great sense of humor, and loved her dogs, as well as oil painting on canvas and ceramics. In earlier years you could always find a puzzle to do at her house. She was a proud member of the Presbyterian Church. Family history was very important to her.

She is preceded by her two husbands Norman Rhode of 40 years, and Willard Copeland of 13 years. Also her brother Joe Theis, sister Janet Holcombe, and her parents.

She is survived by her son Brad Rhode and wife Patty, son Michael Rhode and wife Jennifer, grand daughters Daralynn Rhode and Kaylynn Rhode, step children Cindy Balsly and Debra Malilong, step grandchildren Courtney Hook, Molly Hogoboom, Jessica Malilong, Chris Balsly, and step great-grand daughter Kendal Malilong.

Graveside services will be held Monday June 18, 2018 at 11AM in the Pawhuska City Cemetery. Kendrick McCartney Johnson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
