Patricia Lorene Underwood was born on December 10, 1947, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Leon Ernest and Fern (Cunningham) Ragsdale. She grew up in the Tahlequah area and later married Jake Underwood on March 23, 1968. They shared over twenty-five years of marriage before his passing. Together, Patricia and Jake were blessed with six children.
Patricia dedicated more than thirty-five years as a cook at the Hominy Senior Center, beginning in the early 1980s. In 1998, she fulfilled a dream by opening her own game room and pool hall, which she operated until 2012. Family was always at the center of Patricia's life. Easter was her favorite holiday, and she took great joy in dyeing and hiding eggs for the children each year.
She cherished time spent with loved ones in both Oklahoma and Arkansas. Patricia enjoyed simple pleasures such as playing dominoes, cards, and pool, as well as listening to Dolly Parton. Her warmth, devotion, and love for her family will be remembered always.
Patricia passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025, surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her children, Ronnie Underwood and Michele Underwood (Tim Neugin); grandchildren, Lacey Hayes, Kelsey Hayes, and Sadie Pearl; great-grandchildren, Vulcan Miah, Aurera Miah, Nolan Miah, Derlynn Hayes, Sawyer Hayes, Blaire Annsley, and Bud Thomas; sisters, Cindy Kelley, Nita Jennings, and Nancy Lowrey; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews including Alexa Carter, Karlee Carrier, Kaitilynn Kelley, Caleb Kelley, Jadon Kelley, Mykaela Watkins, and Hunter Adams.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Underwood; children, Ricky Underwood, Clyde Underwood, and Patty Underwood; brothers, Lon Ragsdale and Ronnie Ragsdale; and sister, Anne Wolfe.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Calvary Worship Center, with Pastor Kenny Christian officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Powell Funeral Home in Hominy, Oklahoma.
