Funeral services for Thora Lee Mahorney, 79, of Skiatook, Oklahoma, will be held Monday, January 9, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Riveted Church in Skiatook with Jim Stratton officiating.

Interment in Osage Garden Cemetery is under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home Skiatook. Musical selection for the service is "Amazing Grace My Chains Are Gone". Casket bearers for the service are Stephen Embrich, JJ Cohea, Isaac Sherrill, Charlie Sherrill, Jimmy Burt and John Burt. Honorary casket bearers are Cory Cohea, Trey Cohea and Henry Sherrill.

Thora passed away on January 4, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on February 13, 1943 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Henry Thomas and Lillie Beatrice (Watkins) Searan. Thora married Carl Mahorney on December 10, 1958 in Inola, OK: he preceded her in death on March 20, 2008. Thora worked for Francis Streidel Nursing Home. She became a mother on June 21, 1962. At the age of 40 Thora earned her G.E.D., driver's licenses and got her first job. She became a grandma on March 16, 1981, a great grandma on December 21, 2005 and a great great grandma on December 15, 2022. Throughout the years she enjoyed sewing, cooking, being a member of the Tri County CB Club, a member of the Moose Lodge and a member of the Oddfellows Rebeccas. She also enjoyed going and listening to music with her friends, playing Bingo and going "Out West", but her greatest joy has always been being with her family especially all of her grand and great grandchildren.

Thora is survived by a daughter Thora B. Cohea and husband Dan of Skiatook; two grandchildren: Michael Cohea and wife Teresa, Amy Sherrill and husband Steven 14 great grandchildren: Stephen, Sierra, Stephene, Lillie, JJ, Isaac, Charlie, Aleah, Henry, Cory, Trey, Rylee, Ella and Olive, one great great grandson Luca, two brothers: Otto and Jack, four sisters: Mary, Mammie, Edna and Ruth and many nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl, a sister and five brothers.
