Naomi Lee Youtsey passed from this life on June 10, 2023, at the age of 92, in Jennings, Oklahoma.
Naomi was born on March 17, 1931, in Osage, Oklahoma, the daughter of Commodore Velton and Vera May (Cochran) Horton. Naomi attended school in Osage, Oklahoma, where she was pulled out to help in the fields. She completed her GED at around the age of 80 years old. Naomi was united in marriage to John Henry Smith and shortly after they adopted their daughter Velta Mae Smith. Naomi owned her own beauty shop in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, where she worked as a beautician for many years. Following the death of John Smith, Naomi was united in marriage to Lloyd Junior Youtsey on December 19, 1983, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She later moved to Jennings, Oklahoma, with Lloyd in the mid-'80s.
Naomi enjoyed singing, quilting, and gardening. She also liked traveling with Lloyd to Bluegrass Festivals and NASCAR races. Naomi was an excellent pie maker and cook. She attended church at First Baptist Church in Jennings, Oklahoma.
Survivors are her three children; Jenny Lester and Husband Brett Lester of Jennings, Oklahoma, Tamra Hall of Mannford, Oklahoma, and David Youtsey and wife Lisa Youtsey of Oilton, Oklahoma, three sisters; Carol Pickle, Martha Reeves, and Mary McCarty, grandchildren; Bryan Daniel, Helen Daniel, and Rachel Forrest, and several great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Naomi was preceded in death by her first husband, John Smith, second husband, Lloyd Youtsey, daughter Velta Mae Smith, four infant children, granddaughter Debra Jean Daniel, sister Virginia Tilley, and brother Melvin Horton.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023, at Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Burial will be held in the Osage Cemetery at Osage, Oklahoma. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Friends and family may visit an online guest book and memorial page for Naomi at www.chapman-black.com.
