Obble Lewis Harrell was born January 5, 1917 in Dewar, Oklahoma to Verda Larada “Rada” Booker and Samuel Thomas Harrell. He was raised in Osage and Washington counties in Oklahoma and graduated from Hominy High School in 1936. He worked in the oil field for several years following graduation. He enlisted in the Army National Guard at Hominy, Oklahoma, on September 3, 1940. His military training was diverse. He attended Artillery school, Flight Training school, Radio Operators school and B-29 gunnery school. He married Elsie Virginia Thompson June 2, 1944 in Topeka, Kansas while still in the service. He was assigned overseas to Manila, Phillipines in preparation for the invasion of Japan. He was discharged December 14, 1945 as a Staff Sergeant in the Army Air Corps. After discharge from the service, he worked in the oil field in Osage County and Garvin County, Oklahoma until his retirement in 1979 from Marathon Oil Company. Obble was an ordained deacon in the Baptist Church and served as an active deacon in several churches as well as a Sunday School teacher and many other areas of service. Elsie passed away Feb 8, 1996 after 52 years of marriage in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.

A good friend later introduced him to a wonderful lady. He married Ruth Elizabeth Phelps on Sept 25, 1999 in Lexington Oklahoma and gained an extensive new family.

Obble is survived by: His wife, Ruth Harrell of Lexington; His sons; Michael Steven Harrell and his wife, Judy of Tecumseh, and Allyn Lewis Harrell and his wife, Carole of Mustang; His grandchildren, Angela Atkins and her husband, Shannon of Norman, Andrea Vincent and her husband, Heath of Edmond, Jennifer Koeninger of Mustang, Paul Harrell and his wife, Shalena of Mustang; His great-grandchildren, Isaac Atkins, Grace Atkins, Boone Koeninger, Briar Koeninger, Salicia Hubbard, Skyylar Hubbard, and Seth Harrell, as well as a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren from Ruth's family; His sister, Ruth Goodman; and numerous extended family and friends.

Obble was a soft-spoken, hard working man who loved the Lord and would do anything to help his church, his family and his friends. He loved working with his hands especially woodworking.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 21, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Lexington. Burial will follow at 3:30 P.M. at the Osage Cemetery in Osage, OK. The family will receive friends at 9:00 A.M. at the Church.
