JoAnn Moyer Simmons was born December 31, 1939 to Joe and Anna Moyer in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She joined her Risen Savior on September 27, 2016.

The graveside service will be at Hillside Cemetery in Skiatook, OK on October 22, 2016 at 2pm JoAnn was introduced to Bill Simmons by high school friends. They married on June 6, 1958. They have two children: Sheri LaBarr and Susan Simmons.

JoAnn graduated from Merritt High School (1957) and attended Southwestern State University before beginning her career as a bookkeeper. She was employed by Jane Phillips Hospital for 38 years and "enjoyed her numbers."

She joined Dewey United Methodist Church and was involved in many different activities including financial secretary.

JoAnn loved her church family, immediate family, pets and most intensely her grandchildren and great grandchildren: Kara and Jeff Hawes, Kandra and Travis Watson, Marrissa Simmons, Kaden Hawes, Trailee Watson, Waylon Watson, Major Simmons, and Miah Simmons.

She was preceded in death by her parents. In addition to her immediate family, JoAnn is survived by her husband, Bill, and her brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Nan Moyer and many nieces and nephews.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers; please make donations in JoAnn's name to: The Dewey United Methodist Church, 618 N. Delaware, Dewey, Ok 74029 or the Washington County SPCA, 16620 State Hwy. 123 Bartlesville, OK 74006.
