Kaylynn Yandell was born on October 18, 1970 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Lynda and James Gunter. She grew up in Del City until her senior year of high school when she moved with her family to Fairfax, Oklahoma. It was there that she met her late husband, Keith. Kaylynn met Keith through mutual friends and later wed on August 25th of 1989. They had two daughters, Destinee and Desiree.
Kaylynn graduated from Ross Case High school in 1988 and went on to attend Rose State College where she studied accounting. In 1990, Kaylynn enlisted in the United States Army Reserves and attended basic training at Ft. Dix, New Jersey alongside her sister Shelly. Upon graduating from basic training, she attended her advanced individual training as a Personnel Administration Specialist at Ft. Linwood, Missouri.
After her honorable discharge in the military, Kaylynn returned to Fairfax with her husband to begin their family. During this time, she explored her career options through different employment opportunities until settling into her position with Conoco Phillips/Phillips 66 where she remained for over 20 years. In June 2025, Kaylynn began working for Oklahoma State University as an Administrative Support Specialist, up until her passing.
In her free time, Kaylynn took care of her mother-in-law, Madeline, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, getting her nails done, and watching OU softball. She was a devoted grandmother to her two granddaughters, Dallis and Emery, and attended any and every event she could to support them.
Kaylynn is survived by her daughters, Destinee Hunt and husband Ryan of Newalla, Desiree Yandell of Edmond, her granddaughters, Dallis and Emery of Newalla, and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith; her mom, Lynda; a brother, Ronnie and her father-in-law, Eugene.
A viewing at Hunsaker Wooten Funeral Home will be held on Tuesday, February 17th, please check back for time. A graveside service will be held February 18th at 2pm at Fairfax Cemetery with Russell Hughes officiating. Casket bearers include Ryan Hunt, Carson Moon, Ray Fields, David McInturf, Bud McKinney, and Raymond Hoskinson. Honorary bearers include, Greg Moon, Johnny Wilson, and Greg Garrett.
