Clinton Dwayne Melton, resident of Ponca City, died on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He was 49 years old. Clinton was born on January 15, 1960 in Fairfax, Oklahoma the son of Charles Edward Melton and Mary Delores Sroufe Melton. He grew up in Fairfax and graduated from Fairfax Public Schools. He moved to Ponca City in the early 1990s. Clinton married Pamela Renea Woolley on November 9, 2001 in Fairfax. Clinton loved his family, sports and animals. He was a major OU fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR. He was a big animal lover and loved caring for his cats, dogs, birds and pot bellied pig. Clinton also enjoyed going to garage sales and flea markets. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela; children, Krista, Sonja, April, Richard, Amber, Natosha, Cassey and Michael; 14 grandchildren; one brother, Charles Bo Melton; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Melton; sister, Kay Bennett; brother, Randy Melton; and nephew, Josh Melton. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated. The graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 9, 2009 at Fairfax Cemetery with Brother Lewis Bernard, of Full Gospel Assembly Church officiating. The family will be at 520 Mason St. in Fairfax to receive friends and family. Mr. Melton will lie in state at Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home in Fairfax.
