Agnes Holt was born in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma on May 25, 1922. She was 86 years old when she went to her lord, on Saturday, July 5, 2008. She was the oldest child of Irvin and Rillie Eatherly Mayo. As a young child, her parents moved from Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, to the River Route area between Fairfax and Ponca City in a Model T pickup. Agnes attended small one room school houses in this area as she grew up. In 1946, Agnes and Alfred Phillips were united in marriage. To this union, two children were born, Norman and Patsy. In 1953, she married Lonny McAnally, and to this union, her son Dale was born. Agnes raised her children in Fairfax as a single mother. She did her best to enjoy life while raising her children. She enjoyed the outdoors, and loved taking her children to the Fairfax Lake for picnics and fishing. The enjoyment of fishing has stayed with Agnes throughout her adult life. She has been known to catch big fish at the Fairfax Lake, and always had a story to tell about the ones that got away. She also enjoyed gardening, drawing, painting and discussing the bible. She loved our Lord. Agnes is survived by her son, Norman Phillips and wife Kim of Garfield, Arkansas; daughter, Patsy Phillips of Fairfax, Oklahoma; son, Dale McAnally and wife Brenda of Ralston, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Allen Phillips, Michael Phillips, Melissa Phillips, Brandyn McAnally, Joshua McAnally, Jeromy McAnally, Wade McAnally, Cathy Hurst and Scott Phillips; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Rosco Mayo; granddaughter, Tammy Hendrex Benham; and nephew, Kenneth Mayo. She will be missed very much. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Fairfax Cemetery under the direction of Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home. Reverend George Weston of First Christian Church will officiate.
