Alice Fay Newlin, longtime Shidler resident, passed away Thursday evening, March 30, 2017, with her loving family by her side. She was 71 years of age. Alice was born September 27, 1945 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. She was raised by Vern Richter and Martha Ratliff Richter in Ponca City where she attended PO HI.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2017 in the Burbank First Baptist Church with Pastor Dennis Wildman officiating. Interment will follow in the Burbank Cemetery with arrangements in care of Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City. Alice married the love of her life Don Newlin on May 26, 1966, in Arkansas City, Kansas, and they made their first home on Salt Creek and raised 4 daughters on surrounding ranches. Alice and Don celebrated 50 years of marriage last May. She worked numerous years for the Shidler Bank where she retired in 2000 with 25 years of service. Alice enjoyed making memories with her grandbabies which she affectionately called her Gooseberry Gang. She was an active Booster Club Member, Triple T 4H leader while her kids were growing up in school. She also supported them in every activity they were involved in. During her spare time Alice enjoyed baking birthday cakes, arranging flowers, watching the Dallas Cowboys, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Oklahoma City Thunder and playing Bingo.

Alice is survived by her husband Don of the home; 4 daughters; Renee and husband Dee Cooper of Glencoe, OK Cindy and husband Mike Wilson of Ponca City, OK Tracy and husband Chuck McWilliams of Blackwell, OK and Nicole Hurd of Newkirk, OK. Also surviving are her Gooseberry gang (her loving Grandchildren)Brandon Bishop, Zach Wilson, Jake Cooper, Santana Cooper-Schatte, Corey Hurd, Brooklyn Milton, Jordan Cooper, Hayden Cooper, Laney Roe, Lucas Roe, Bailey Hurd, Macy Hurd, Landon Roe and Summer McWilliams. Also surviving are 9 great grandchildren: Jessen Fay Bishop, Kylie Wilson, Kenzie Wilson, Cabrey Boland, Cwynn Milton, Huck Hurd, Hank Hurd, Tori Benson and Jett Benson. Alice is also survived by her son at heart; Todd Roe of Shidler, OK. She also leaves behind her special Fur Baby; Odie.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents.

Alice will forever be remembered in the hearts of those who loved her. Her kindness touched the lives of countless people as she was considered a friend and Mema by many.
