Debra Ann Blackwell, resident of Shidler, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2009 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was 59. Debra was born the daughter of Calvin Gene Parker and Mary Ellen Parks Parker on June 5, 1950 in Hays, Kansas. She attended Guymon Schools and graduated from Shidler Public Schools in 1968. Debra was a collector of everything. She was very creative and had a knack for creating beautiful things. She loved reading, crocheting, designing ceramics, hiking and being outdoors in nature. Although Debra was always busy, she had a patient and easygoing nature. She was faith oriented and enjoyed attending religious services. She was also a studious bible studier. Debra loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her sense of humor and gentle spirit will be greatly missed. She is survived by her parents, Calvin and Mary Ellen Parker; children, Hanna Blackwell, Laura Harrison and husband, John, David Blackwell and Angela Blackwell all of Shidler, Oklahoma; brothers, Ron Parker and his wife, Shawna of Apperson, Oklahoma and Edwin Parker of Shidler; sisters, Pamela Grass and Gay Swenson of Shidler and Myra Jones and husband, Denny of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Liberty Blackwell and James Blackwell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her daughters, Paula DeAnn Blackwell and Gala Teresa Blackwell. Casket bearers for the service will be John Harrison, Jay Allen, David Blackwell, Ron Parker, Edwin Parker and Denny Jones. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Grace Tabernacle of Praise with Pastor Bill Nash officiating. Burial will follow at Burbank Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, 1904 N. Union, Ste. 103, Ponca City, Oklahoma 74601.
