Ellis Ludon Peters

Ellis LuDon Peters, 93, passed from this life Weds, March 15, 2023, at his home in Cleveland, OK.

Ellis Peters was born January 4, 1930 to Villous and Blanch Peters in Hominy, Oklahoma. LuDon was part of a sibling group of three, he had one sister Carol Dean and one brother Glenn Peters. LuDon grew up in the Hominy area. At around eleven he came down with rheumatic fever and had to deal with some medical issues at that time. He played football his freshman year of high school. He did very well at school and was in the top of his class. LuDon graduate from Hominy High School " Go Bucks!! "

After graduated LuDon joined the Army National Guard, he went active duty during the Korean Conflict. Quickly after Korea, LuDon received his honorable discharge. Once home LuDon went to work in the oil fields. He spent his career working here in the States and out of country. He spent time in Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Thailand, Columbia, New Guinea, Malaysia, and Singapore. He would be gone for a month or two at a time and then be home for a month.

LuDon married Betty in 1954 and they had three children, two sons, Steven, and Kevin along with one daughter, Debbie. They raised their family in the Hominy area. After Betty passed LuDon married Judy in 2008 and the have lived in the Cleveland area since then.

LuDon loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. LuDon's pastime was spent in one of three areas. He loved tinkering on things, like his lawn mower or his boat. He loved to fish, out on the river beds fishing for catfish or noodling, either way. The last area he loved was football, between Oklahoma University and the Hominy Bucks. LuDon will be missed by his family.

LuDon is survived by his wife, Ruth in the home; two sons, Steven (Yuliza) Peters and Kevin Peters; one daughter, Debbie (Wayne) Dilley; ten grandchildren Christina (Brad) Kirchner, Steven Peters, Mandy (Dusty) Durraso, Curtis Peters, Jason Peters, Dafne Mejia, Jasmine Peters, Alex Mejia, Kristin ( ) Meadows, Devin ( ) Robinson; numerous great grandchildren. Preceded in death by Parents Villous Peters, Blanch Peters; one brother, Glenn Peters; one sister, Carol Dean.

Service of Ellis LuDon Peters will be at Powell Funeral Service in Hominy, Oklahoma on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 2:00pm. Visitation will be Tuesday Morning, March 21, 2023 from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Burial at A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery, Hominy, Oklahoma
