April Luelen Mitts passed from this life on March 19, 2026, at the age of 65 in Hominy, Oklahoma.
April was born on April 22, 1960, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Wilson and Marjelen (Whitehorn) Mitts. She was raised in Hominy, where she attended school and proudly graduated with the Hominy High School Class of 1979. Following high school, April continued her education at Draughon's Business School.
April began her working career at Cupid and later dedicated more than 25 years of service as a dispatcher for the City of Hominy. After her retirement from dispatching, she continued her caring nature by working as a caregiver for others in the community.
She found great joy in attending elder bingo events throughout the districts, spending time with her beloved pets - her cats, George and Tigger, and her dog, Chewy. April also enjoyed taking drives and reminiscing about cherished memories.
Survivors are her son Seth Cale of Hominy, Oklahoma, sister Tina Cox and husband Bob of Hominy, Oklahoma and a host of other relatives and friends. April was preceded in death by her parents Wilson and Olita Mitts, siblings Wilson "Cowboy" Mitts, Stephen "Sam" Mitts; grandparents Lucille and Lee Robedeaux; a son Charles Anthony Mitts.
